There are firms which provide a service call Debt Management.  If you cannot trust yourself to make all the payments every month, sometimes it is worth it to engage a Debt Management company.  The Debt Management company takes a fee to manage your payments.  You pay them one amount each month, and they distribute the funds to all your creditors.  As long as you can keep up the payments on time, every time, this is an effective way to handle it.  The Debt Management company may or may not be able to get the creditor to forgive a portion of the debt, and they can usually get the interest and penalties stopped.
